sure, use gzip or bzip2. In fact, best would be to tar the entire directory, excluding the WAV* CHG* files, and then compress and attach that to a post (attach the file, don't try to post a bunch of OUTCAR text!). That way, if the script gets information from other files, I can reproduce it.
